The Family Cure-The Corrections (Jonathan Franzen) A Novel

#1 NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller * NATIONAL BOOK AWARD WINNER *A NEW YORK TIMES BEST BOOK OF THE 21ST CENTURY: TOP 10

This book, The Corrections, is about a family and all their funny problems. There is a mom named Enid who really wants her three grown-up kids to come home for Christmas. Her husband, their dad, might be very sick. The book talks about a lot of things happening around that time, like how some people were getting really rich and what it was like in other countries. But the most important thing is how the family is connected and how they all act.

Each kid has their own story in the book, and you get to see things from their point of view. The author does a good job of making you care about all the characters, even though they mess up sometimes. It's funny because everyone is trying to fix their lives, but they're not always doing it the right way.

A part of the story happens on a big cruise ship, where Enid and her husband meet other families. They talk about things like money and their kids. It's like a little world inside the ship.

This book is funny and sad at the same time. It makes you think about your own family and how we all try to be happy.
